Diploma in Anesthesia and Critical Care Technician

Diploma in Anesthesia and Critical Care Technician is a two-year academic programme designed to prepare students to perform CPR, and to have professional knowledge of BLS and ACLS; to safely use all anaesthetic drugs; to assists to anaesthetist during all anaesthesia and critical care procedures and also to maintain records in systematic manner.

The curriculum focuses on subjects like General Anatomy & Physiology, basics of relevant Pathology, Pharmacology & Microbiology. It also focuses on drugs used before, during and after Anaesthesia, vital recording, first aid, hand hygiene & prevention of cross infection and most importantly Basics Life Support (BSL) & Cardio- pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The main purpose of this programme is to train the student to assist the anaesthetist during the procedures.

Eligibility Criteria

(10+2) or equivalent completed from a recognized educational board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Maths.
Minimum age required is 17 years.

Program Objective

Acquiring skills for pre-anesthesia evaluation

Maintenance of anesthetic equipment and being responsible for the safe use of all the anesthetic drugs that are kept in the OT and critical care areas
Perform CPR in an emergency situation
